Staple editor Wayne Burrows appears in the opening slot of the Lyric Lounge and gives a reading from The Protein Songs, alongside a screening of the section from the dance piece made from the poems by choreographer Filip van Huffel, which toured the UK and Europe during 2006. Afterwards, there will be coffee and an informal Q&A to launch the latest issue of Staple magazine, looking at the connections between writing and the visual arts, and the nitty gritty of getting a small magazine into print.

Wayne Burrows reads a selection of poems alongside Carol Thistlethwaite and Carole Baldock as part of the Polyverse Festival: the reading will be the first chance to hear material from Emblems, a chapbook collection published by Shoestring Press this month, and copies of the book and the latest Staple magazine will be on sale at the event.
